Review of Drive (2011) by Ross — 18 Sep 2011

Just a beautifully photographed film and the music/sound effects...one of the most stimulating sound tracks in recent years. The lighting and overall compositions give the film a kind of depth of meaning that is seldom seen in mainstream films anymore.

Having said all that, I found the ending a tad unsatisfying and I have to admit that the main character's laconic-ism got a little annoying towards the end! Okay, yes, his actions and facial expressions (and, again, the compositions) speak volumes about his interior angst but my goodness at some point we need some actual (cathartic) expression as well! Still, loved it.
