I don't think I've ever been so surprised by a film than when I saw this masterpiece called Drive. This movie screams an awesome dark vibe from the great soundtrack to the dark setting in Los Angeles.

I was in love with the soundtrack because of how haunting it made a situation. For example, whenever Driver is riding through the night scenes the audience gets treated to this awesome synthesizer and it.

Is. Awesome. I loved the cast and how it's easy to know who is who even with little screen time. I love being able to know everyone's name in a movie because then you can have a conversation about it with someone else who has seen it too and know who you're talking about if that makes any sense.

I was easily attached to Driver within minutes of the movie. He was a really well structured character and had really great dialogue whenever he talked and that wasn't a lot. The whole cast was really likable and did a superb job.

Whenever Albert Brooks was on screen he stole the scene away. With as little screen time as he had, he was super intimidating and freaky. When he's talking on the phone with Driver it was one of the most intense scenes in the entire movie.

Which leads to another thing I loved about Drive, the suspense it brought to me. This movie was really dark at times and during then I felt almost scared for the character as if I was actually there. There are a lot of scenes that demonstrate this perfectly like the shop robbery.

Something I didn't expect to see in this film was heart. This movie through all the exciting intense action scenes was able to have a whole theme of heart. Driver is doing all this crazy stuff to protect Irene and Benicio.

I don't see that much heart in some romantic movies, reason being that he is sacrificing his life and safety for this family. They have a really powerful chemistry growing while the father is gone that wasn't really a full blown romantic gesture but just acting as the nice neighbor.

I really respect how the director was able to make me believe the romantic tension was still there but wasn't really acted upon. The story was never dull, but definitely gory. Was it distracting? No, it really made my opinion of this movie all the more stronger.

Drive was a movie that really impressed me with all the themes it was able to express and points it was able to get across. It's one of my favorite films and I can definitely see myself watching this a lot more.
