Review of Dredd (2012) by Brett T — 20 Oct 2013
Refreshingly gritty after the shiny plastic-ness of The Avengers et al, it sprints along dodging an army's worth of bullets, trying not to slip in gallons of blood. Only criticism would be the sequences clearly drawn out purely for 3D effect - they slow the narrative occasionally and become tiresome.
Overall though, very good - a distant cousin of the original 'RoboCop' - extremely violent, darkly funny and very tightly scripted.
