Review of Dredd (2012) by Turner E — 26 Oct 2013
Dredd:
**** (out of 5).
One of the best films, that no one saw last year. Holy Shit, this was infinitely more entertaining than the 1900's film and thank good. Dredd is one of the most violent and dark comic book films to come out of the past few years, and I loved it for its great visuals, excellent use of slow-mo (the best I've ever seen), and the great action. Unlike the 90's version, the film isn't concerned with overly complicated stories about Cloning and conspiracies. Instead we get a great action film that is tones of fun. Karl Urban is unrecognizable in this role, and he does a better "Batman voice", than Bale ever did. Overall it is just an entertaining film that deserves a sequel.
