Review of Dreams (1990) by Joseph S — 30 May 2008

For me, nothing can touch this film. Yes, it's surreal and told in 8 different segments...yes, the visuals are absolutely astonishing...but the metaphors and symbolism can take decades to sink into your psyche.

I've watched this film repeatedly for over 10 years now and still am finding new insights. For me, this will always be a truly spiritual journey whenever I absorb it. Even if you don't need to go there, the sheer artistry and vision of the concepts are what have made Kurosawa one of the grand universal masters of cinema.

Eye candy for the depths.
