Review of Dread (2009) by Nigel C — 06 May 2011
I was glad this wasn't the only thing I was doing at the time and that the game I was playing was engaging enough to distract me from the movie.
The cast are well chosen but the movie is simply an hour too long. It's another example too of a Clive Barker story being twisted, though this is easily recognisable to those that know the original work.
Plot: Students decide to analyse Fear. One has a fear they cannot expunge and that will consume them all.
Violence and mature content justify the 18 rating. Some creepy moments and some extremely fragile and well acted secondary characters.
I've upped my rating after re-reading my review, it is a shame that I couldn't get past the shear length of the movie where the directors touch drags the movie as if through molasses or tar.
