Review of Dread (2009) by Claire T — 16 Dec 2012
Another relatively lacklustre indie horror which examines several teenagers past trauma's and psychologically analyses how each has learnt to contain the fears and pain that haunted them. As the experiment gets deeper and deeper, and what started out as a simple school thesis becomes a personal mission, the students begin to turn on one another and take the study to the next level - recreating those past fears into today's reality.
The results are deadly as each of them struggle to cope with having to relive their worst nightmares over again. It's a very dark and depressing setting with very little genuine entertainment. It's easy enough to follow but there just aren't too many memorable highlights.
The cast are totally unrecognisable to me and given a few days, I'd expect the film to be the same also.
