Review of Dragonslayer (1981) by Jane R — 21 Jun 2007
Used to own it, lent it out and lost it. This dragon positively rules, a total monstrosity that terrorizes peasants and feeds on virgins that are chained because a kings allows this to placate the monster and spare the rest of the people.
Enter into this picture a young Peter MacNicol of Ally McBeal fame playing an apprentice sorcerer named Galen eager to make something of himself and lies about his powers and winds up in a mess, trying to save his mentor.
The scenery is fabulous and the story is great. See it if only for the dragon and the special effects.
