Review of Dragonslayer (1981) by Jeffrey P — 24 Sep 2010
Fantasy-adventure is most notable for ILM's pioneering "go-motion" work, some of which has stood the test of time well. While Barwood & Robbins' script has some nice points (mainly concerning the sacrificial lottery, and how history can be overwritten by the wealthy), Peter MacNicol's hero feels colorless, and the execution is somewhat choppy and grim.
Alex North's score seems particularly ill-fitting.
