DragonSlayer.

1 out of 5 stars (2017).

4 out of 5 stars (1981).

A young curly haired wizards apprentice must rise up and save the girl next door princess using only his spear and his charm. (See what I did there?).

So let me take you back to a time before Lord of The Rings a time when Starwars was still the best thing with the recent release of Empire and true sword and sorcery films were few and far between. It's important to take that into perspective because back then nerds had to take what they could get.

Flash forward to 2017 past the renaissance of the 80s scifi/ fantasy genre and Dragonslayer becomes nothing more than a footnote in bizzare Disney history.

Trust me its almost unwatchable. The dialogue is about as fun as listening to your roommate sit on a toilet with diaerreah. The cast is just painful to look at and watch, Seriously, I hope who ever was in charge of wardrobe and the drab set pieces never managed to worked in Hollywood again.

Anyway there's brief nudity and gore which is cool because I'd be hard pressed to give out that one star otherwise. The spear/sword fight has magical sparks flying about for some apparent reason, because magic I suppose and the sound effects make it all the more hilarious, im sure this was added to distract fom the choreography because its about as graceful as a Hippo on a trampoline (imagine it).

So all in all, is it worth your time? The Dragon FX are decent for 1981and were even nominated for an Oscar and if you are in need a drinking buddy, like me last night, Dragonslayer is your man.
