Review of Dracula's Daughter (1936) by Tristan D — 05 May 2009
The shadow of the original certainly hovers over the writing but this is a movie that does its own thing. Even more so than the first it goes for suggestive horror and mood rather than the blunt statement.
There is even some lesbian eroticism. A very modern vampire tale, Van Sloan keeps us tied to the original Dracula, while Holden and Pichel provide stand out creepy performances amongst a colourful cast.
