Review of Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966) by Colin F — 14 Feb 2012
The only problem I have with this movie is I have seen it far too many times, it is an absolute classic full of atmosphere. Christopher Lee returns as Dracula this time not saying a word just grunting his way through, but his screen presence is brilliant, because he does not saying anything some how it makes the whole thing more creepy, this mad vampire that pops up from time to time.
The script is simple but good, four holiday makers get stuck for somewhere to stay and end up at Castle Dracula when the butler kills one of them and uses their blood to bring the Count back to life! It really is brilliant and one of the best Dracula films that set the template for further sequels. Dracula also has the best demise in this film messing round on a frozen lake, check it out.
