Review of Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968) by Tristan G — 30 May 2009
This film was... meh. That's the only word I can use to sum up this movie, because that's the feeling I had all throughout it. It's pure meh all the way, from the dull sets, bland actors, and slow script to the boring cinematography and weird visual effects.
And when I say weird, I mean WEIRD. For some reason every time Dracula is on screen, there this trippy rainbow ring on the edges of the screen, and it just doesn't work. Dracula himself should be awesome, but the writing makes him cheesy and, dare I say it, a supporting player.
He barely speaks in the movie, he just appears in doorways and growls. I love Christopher Lee, and I love Horror of Dracula, but this movie is just... meh.
