Review of Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968) by Stuart K — 10 Mar 2012
Christopher Lee assumes the persona of Dracula once again for this sequel. The plot for this outing involves a Monsignor (Rupert Davies) exorcising Castle Dracula and therefore preventing the recently resurrected Count from using it.
The vindictive Dracula enslaves a local priest (Ewan Hopper) and brutally strikes against the Monsignor's family, but the vampire hasn't reckoned with the atheistic fiance of the Monsignor's niece.
Dracula Has Risen From The Grave follows a pat formula, but the macabre tone, spirited performances, and unforgettable ending of this film make it one of my favorite Hammer movies.
