Review of Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995) by Amina D — 02 Jan 2009
I actually liked this. It started out a bit rocky but got better as it progressed. My favorite parts would have to be 1. the bug-eating scene, 2. the staking scene and 3. all of the "British-are-sexually-repressed" jokes (loler loler as everyone knows much Victorian lit was underscored with sexuality and violence because of the staunch morals of the time).
Also, special mentions would have to be the end scene (I dunno why I thought the scooping up of the ashes was hysterical... The smiley face was pretty funny) and the dance scene. I liked how they paid homage to that whole "dance sequences in old films = euphemism for sex" thing.
