Review of Dracula A.D. 1972 (1972) by Stephen C — 09 Aug 2011
Ok so Hammer were geting desperate by the time this crashed onto screens.
But as silly knockabout fun it does the job and one cant help laughing at the almost Austin Powers like dialogue and clothes.
The premise is simple Dracula returns to spread his terror through 70s Chelsea ,which is all Triumph Stags ,terrible clothes and a terrible band called Stoneground.
Amid the High camp Lee and Cushing can always be relied on to deliver the goods even if the movie is a touch mouldy in places and as with all late Hammer films you get heaving bosoms and lashings of light gore.
Not a classic Hammer Film by a long long way but hey as a bad time capsule movie it rattles along.
