Review of Dracula 2000 (2000) by Kalysta H — 22 Jan 2010
I would have to say, this is certainly one of the most interesting takes on Dracula I've ever seen. I love the explanation of Dracula as Judas. It certainly explains why vampires supposedly hate crosses and sunlight.
God is light and therefore anyone who goes against him is darkness. However, the movie wasn't very intense or dark or creepy like vamp movies should be. And... it was a far fetched idea that he would want some girl for the pathetic reasons he gave.
It's not like he was interested by her personality... just her blood. Soooo lame. Plus, he was so quick to give up on a person he supposedly had been waiting his whole life for. Some aspects of the story were very clever but the rest fell short.
Too bad, because this movie was packed full of familiar faces. However, I might recommend it to some friends. Maybe I'd watch it again to.
