Review of Dracula 2000 (2000) by Anna C — 14 Feb 2008

So rarely do you come across a movie with such a seeming compression of so much wrong. This is less movie and more marketing gimmick, and not a particularly good one in either case...

A vast majority of the "characters" are the kind of dangerous stupid that can only result in their death. On second thought, scratch that altogether. ALL of the characters are on that level of stupidity, and that includes Van Helsing who is a life-endangering brand of idiot to all. If you place it upon yourself to guard a vampire's tomb to keep him or her from rising, wouldn't it make more sense to use traps that DON'T draw copious amounts of blood...?

I know Vitamin C was trying to parlay a shaky career as a pop idol into acting, but my heart goes out to her for losing her top in this piece of shit. I'm sure the pitch meeting went really well seeing as how shoehorning the number '2000' into a title seemed like a good idea to too many producers at the time. The trick even worked on a few movie-goers, but there's one thing that is unquestionable. Any movie that ends with a Linkin Park song is probably a pile of crap. Case and point: this...
