Review of Dracula (1958) by Tron D — 29 May 2008
Hammer Studios reinvents the classic Universal monsters with color, sex and blood! Lee and Cushing easily become the new Lugosi and Van Sloane with charismatic performances and England, of course, provides excellent settings and atmosphere.
Lugosi's DRACULA stands as the vampire genre's CASABLANCA but Hammers outings are a close CITIZEN KANE.
