Christopher Lee portrays the Count in a bit of a departure from both the novel and earlier films (Harker knows of Dracula's state of being from the get-go and uses his initial entry into the castle to attempt to kill him).
More graphic, if only because of the Technicolor, this Hammer film retains the Gothic atmosphere captured in earlier versions.
