Review of Dracula (1958) by Sgt. C — 12 Mar 2014
(78%).
One of the biggest jewels is Hammer's crown. Its got both the on and off screen talent that marks it out from the rest of the pack as the quality is really quite high. The pace bogs down a little after the first 30 mins, but the opening is brilliantly intense and the final few scenes are way ahead of their time. It's also not that far removed from the book, a lot closer than many other movies anyway. A must watch for all Hammer fans as well as classic horror fans.
