Review of Dracula (1958) by Eytan D — 05 Dec 2013
The problem with "Horror of Dracula" is that it not only sticks very loosely to Bram Stoker's novel, but it also lacks the pure sense of dread that pervaded the atmosphere of Tod Browning's 1931 classic.
But Hammer horror was always about big-breasted women being terrorized by the great legends of horror acting, and in a way, the movie is goofy fun. Both Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee give great performances, and flawed as it may be, "Horror of Dracula" is still entertaining enough to warrant more than one viewing.
