Review of Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) by Barry N — 18 Jul 2012
This is a black comedy, what did I expect? I was expecting a little more comedy than was present in this film, because I didn't laugh as much as I wanted in this film. Still this is a nice political satire.
I think one of the main problems I had with this film was that there were too many characters and I had a hard time for a while following what was going on.
This film is still great, but it is slightly overrated. The film is both dramatic and comedic at the same time, but the film is very jerky, sometimes confusing and sometimes down right dull. The begining is really slow, but it does pick up near the middle. Is it one of the greatest comedies ever made? Maybe. Is it the one of the funniest comedies ever made? I don't think so. It's still worth a watch, but I didn't think that this film was one of the greatest films ever made.
