Review of Dr. Phibes Rises Again (1972) by Shaun B — 20 May 2012
Campy fun B-movie horror flick that has Vincent Price reprising his role from the earlier and much superior film, THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES. Here we have broad swashes of silly banter that actually works very well at times and the deaths are inventive and interesting but not as well thought out as in the first movie.
In the end it's a minor cult classic that's a worthy watch if you especially enjoy 1970s Vincent Price or shit like watching a man "talk" through an amp hooked up to a tuba. Whatever floats your boat.
