Review of Dr. No (1962) by Dave R — 29 Nov 2009
This first Bond movie is certainly not a disappointment, considering what it has going for it. Sean Connery is great as the first Agent 007, and he's every bit as charismatic as advertised. Then, of course, the first Bond girls are beautiful, most especially Honey Ryder.
The action is a little subdued, but satisfying, since the film takes more of a hardboiled detective story. Nevertheless, this is one of the most significant entries into the Bond movie franchise.
