Review of Downsizing (2017) by Mr%20 M — 22 Jan 2018
Very good film. Finally an original, creative film from Hollywood instead of the awful soulless re-makes of old films they keep churning out. Excellent cinematography and a great cast of actors combined with a evocative script make for the most enjoyable film I have seen in a good while.
Judging from other reviews and the disappointing box-office takings, I fear we won't get many more creative films like this in the future, at least not with a sizeable budget and strong cast as this.
Its a pity the majority of cinema goers don't seem to be interested in films like this and just want boring predictable repeats of the same old tosh. I'm not saying this was the best film in the world ever, but for me at least, it was funny, visually captivating and at times even profound with the messages it was conveying to reflect some of the major issues affecting the world in which we live.
