Maria Bello's performance is a tour de force; the rest of the movie will have you reaching for selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors... This is a depressing story of loneliness and despair by a woman who is used to feeling emotionally void and seeking pain in order to feel something.
It is a difficult watch, but the acting is terrific and makes it worthwhile.
