Review of Downfall (2004) by Kristina Y — 24 Oct 2009
This is a film that tries to humanize Adolph Hitler, but without sympathizing with him; in that regard, I believe the film succeeds. You see how broken down and diminished Hitler became, both in body and mind, as the war was lost for the Nazis.
The film doesn't try to have audiences sympathize with Hitler, or ask for compassion, because the film demonstrates he had none for the German people or those who died under his order.
