Review of Downfall (2004) by Maarrk H — 30 Mar 2010
On one hand, there's Bruno Ganz's brilliant performance and the perfected visual claustrophobia of the last days in the Bunker. On the other, there's historical inaccuracies all over the place, promoted as truth by the opening and closing interview footage with Traudl Junge.
One wonders why the filmmakers felt a piece of history so intriguing by itself would be in any way served by the amount of dramatic license they take with it.
