Review of Downfall (2004) by Ricardo A — 10 Nov 2011
I had heard a lot about this movie and obviously I've heard of (but haven't really seen) the youtube angry-Hitler clips so I decided to give it a chance and I was blown away. I think some people were concerned that it would humanize Hitler, and it does but not in a way that makes you feel sorry or sympathetic toward him.
If anything, it shows what a truly demented and delusional dictator he was and his utter disregard for life. Seeing him as a human makes him seem far more dangerous and shows a truly dark side of human nature, not some strange detached evil.
Some truly chilling moments and incredible performances.
