Review of Down in the Valley (2005) by Lisa G — 23 Mar 2008
I absolutely loved this film. It's definitely one of those films that you think about the morning after, and it stays with you for a little while. I love how you could cut the movie in half and it would feel like you're watching two completely different movies.
Edward Norton was simply brillaint as Harlan. After watching his performance, I still don't know if his character was psychotic or mentally ill, and don't know if I should blame him for what happened or sympathize with him.
Evan Rachel Wood was great too. The two of them had amazing chemistry together. The cinematography was amazing... the shots were visually stunning. This film are for those that love great characters that deserve to be studied, fantastic performances, and a movie that makes you think long after it's over.
