Review of Doubt (2008) by Tall Cool One ! — 21 Sep 2010
What a long movie, made even longer by all the phone calls I got, the Schwan's guy stopping by and, I shit you not, an ambulance coming to my house by mistake. The ending is what I thought it would be, though I thought someone would actually come forward at the beginning and say "He touched me.
" Instead, we get Sister Columbo who all at once decides that this priest must be molesting boys long before it was a common occurance. I watched the entire movie waiting for her to collect any piece of evidence to back up her hunch and.
..nothing! She kind of gives a vague reason for why she would even entertain the idea, but it's really lame. I hate this kind of lazy writing when it comes to detective shows where the cops are somehow "psychic" and I really hate it here.
It would be like me going to Sheetz and, for no reason, accusing the clerk of murder. The acting was great, at least good enough to earn it a 20% from me.
