Review of Doubt (2008) by Tony B — 30 Jun 2013
That's what we call an acting fiesta. Meryl Streep portrays an iron lady who deisres absolute power very much; Philip Seymour Hoffman is an open-minded but suspect priest who wants to protect a child in peril; Amy Adams is so innocent which reminds me of Edward Norton in Primal Fear; Viola Davis is fighting hard against the hard fate within several minutes' presence.
It is truly breathtaking to watch how Streep confronts Hoffman and Davis with mesmerizing performance. The film itself is criticizing the corruption of power on mankind with multiple symbolism. Well-made.
