Review of Doubt (2003) by Brian R — 11 Mar 2012
I love this movie. John Patrick Shanley's film is perfect in every single way. There isn't a bad scene in the picture. All the performances is all first rate. Again, nothing is really left to waste.
The picture, imo, is authentic on how Catholic schools were run in those days and how strict and serious teachers were in those times. The film is great at leaving the viewer in doubt, weather or not if the priest may have or may not have had an appropriate relationship with one of his students.
That's not only the point in the picture because Shanley takes his viewers deeper into the heart of his main characters. Not everything in this world is all clear...there are those who have their doubts.
