Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Bob L — 15 Jul 2008
Great bit of pulp from the 40's. Actually makes insurance salesmen seem glamourous! Fred MacMurray is ace as is Edward G., but it's obvious Stanwyck just got by as eye candy - so wooden! Wilders direction and Chandlers script make a combo that's hard to ruin.
Must have been so risque for its time. Remade in the 80's as Body Heat, which being basically the same story, was also top notch.
