Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Dustin G — 17 Jul 2011
The ultimate film noir. Not the best one there is, but ultimate in that it has the best dialogue, a great story where nothing goes as it should, solid, hard nosed performances (especially Robinson's) and some genuine suspense. Also, as all good noir's should, it makes you unsure who to root for, if anyone, as almost everyone in the film is an unlikable character.
Highlights one of my favorite things about the genre: in film noir, adultery never goes unpunished.
