Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by John A — 26 Nov 2014
Awww....yes! This film is dark, the characters are horrible people, and the plot is down right bitter. Its life in a nutshell. This film has made it on to some very prestigeous lists of great films. And, with the exception of the Third Man, it is the greatest Film Noir I'v seen. It makes you ask, what is it that we want in life, and what lengths will we go to get it? And most importantly, is it worth it?
I'm also a sucker for movies that grab you and throw you into the plot right away, which I think Fred MacMurray's naration does. Its subtle, and it offers another level of intrigue into where the whole plot is going.
