Review of Double Indemnity (1944) by Fernando Rafael Q — 06 Nov 2011
Hard boiled murder story where the actors seem to dabble in some safe mddle ground especially Fred MacMurray - Barbara Stanwyck does shine as a femme fatale. Dialogue seems to be written to be stark and clever but for me it seems more dull then clever.
I wonder will I eventually find the appeal - I guess it comes with appreciation of form without flaws - but for me it doesn't appear as brilliant.
