Review of Double Indemnity (1944) by Jon C — 19 Nov 2012
This is probably the greatest film of the American film noir movement. Billy Wilder's direction is pitch perfect and the black and white cinema photography is stunning. Barbra Stanwyck is amazing as the heartless adulteress and creates one of the greatest vamps in film history. Edward G. Robinson is brilliant as is Fred MacMurray as the murderous, obsessive chump.
A great masterpiece.
