Review of Double Indemnity (1944) by Harold W — 26 May 2010
It's like the perfect formula for a film noir. This film pratically defines the term. The plot is sort of complex, but it's smart. I loved this film so much that I literally wanted to rewatch it as soon as it was over.
Barbara Stanwyck is THE perfect femme fatale, except her wig was suuuper distracting. However, my favourite person to watch on screen was Edward G. Robinson and his entertaining way of fast-talking, lol.
The movie offers many plot twists and heart-pumping moments. It's simply one of the best in it's genre. It proves Wilder can direct anything.
