Review of Double Indemnity (1944) by Athena R — 21 Jan 2012
Billy Wilder weaves the dark and sexy tale of a love lorn insurance man being caught in a sinister web of deceit and murder.
Pros: >Dialogue.
>Superb acting by Barbara Stanwyck.
>Interesting start that sparks curiosity and makes you want to continue watching as well as a surprising anti cliche ending.
> Dynamic characters to such an degree where I truly despised Barbara character of Phyllis. Though a little side note being that this is what Barbara was afraid of playing a unsympathetic character. She voiced these concerns to Billy Wilder and he retorted " Are you a mouse or an actress.
Cons: >I really cant think of any cons which is probably why I gave it an 100% rating.
Overall: A fantastic movie experience.
