Review of Dope (2015) by Anthony K — 16 Oct 2015
Dope is a good movie. It really is. A group of young, unknown actors turn in very believable performances - especially magnetic is Shameik Moore (a very handsome up and comer, I'd be surprised and disappointed not to see him pop up in a lot of films in the near future).
The plot is entertaining, too -- you rarely see this sort of coming-of-age tale play out with such a diverse cast of characters. Now the problems I did have with Dope: it's a little overlong, a little episodic, and really seems like it has something that it wants to say but.
..never does.
