Review of Doomsday (2008) by Gef F — 03 Jul 2010
This has got to be the most random and confused movie I have ever seen. One minute the girl is being chased by the cast of Mad Max, then Robin Hood pops out, then a knight on horse back, and suddenly there's a Bentley! And dont watch this if you have a weak stomach.
When most ppl are content to stab someone once or twice to kill them, everyone in this movie preferred dismembering and decapitating. There was even one scene where a guy was cooked alive on a grill, then torn apart by a hungry mob, and it was shown in great detail.
As for the story, it was ridiculously lacking. Some famous ppl thrown in as politicians for good measure. And what the hell was the girl doing at the end?! Seriously. Random. This movie was also ridiculously lacking in closure.
It just ended. I often ignore the actual quality of a movie and just enjoy, but this was just so incredibly weird I couldnt get past it. It didnt have as much action as I had hoped either, it was mostly just hacking ppl up.
But it still had the slightest bit of entertaining action. And it was unintentionally funny.
