I love this movie, but it will be polarizing because it made me so uncomfortable. It will make most people very uncomfortable because it shines a very real spotlight on the sordid state of our democracy.
It's funny throughout and the allegory of the meteor as a stand-in literally any catastrophe facing America captures how an inept, status-seeking, narcissistic leadership class could plausibly bicker through the impending doom of the country.
Its tongue in cheek in just the right way.
