If you saw the Netflix special that was released last year, which was called Death to 2020, I think that in a funny way you might notice that a lot of what was seen in that comedy special seems to have served as inspiration for some of the characters in this film.

And considering that both projects began filming in November 2020, it leads me to believe that their screenwriters shared notes.

Don't Look Up is another big film that completely wastes a remarkable cast.

And this one has even bigger names than House of Gucci.

The main problem with this story is that its satire is neither subtle, nor clever, and frankly not even relevant.

The parody, which is more than clearly an accurate reflection of the situation that the United States experienced under Donald Trump's administration when the pandemic began, and has carried ever since, is torn to shreds by its plot incompetence.

How many times has it been said that we need a meteorite to fall on us and make us extinct? That's the joke of this film.

Don't Look Up doesn't express anything interesting in that regard.

It comes to reinvent absolutely nothing, because this is a completely palpable reality, if you spend any time on any social media.

Its humor is simply idiotic because the characters are nothing more than uninteresting parodies, let alone comical.

You can easily tell the cast just wanted to have fun and get paid. I mean, it was recently revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio was paid 30 million dollars for this role, while Jennifer Lawrence got 25.

I seriously need a job where for just doing the bare minimum I get a 30 million dollars salary.

That's how disappointing this film is.

That it's being considered as an Academy award contender? That's low for the Academy.

I only hope that The Lost Daughter and The Hand of God will repair my disappointment when it comes to Netflix.
