Review of Don't Look Now (1973) by Corey B — 28 May 2009
A little disappointing. I enjoyed the beginning and end of this film...even if it was a common story ( see the synopsis).
The editing/sound is fantastic....interesting use of intercutting between the daughter's drowning and the parents actions indoors...also the lovemaking scene and finally the last sequence.
The use of color, primarily red, to insinuate certain attachments to the deceased have been done before- but it added to the mystery of the husband's 'hallucinations'.
I lost interest in the film after the wife leaves and the husband goes on his own quest. I agree with Steve Whalls comment about "something being off" in this movie. I did pulled back in at the end. What the ---- ?!
