Review of Don't Look Now (1936) by James C — 12 Oct 2007
A film which finds horror in two idylls: a picturesque English country house and Venice. It's unusual for a horror film not to be predicated on the moral failings of the victims, but here the relationship between a married couple is portrayed sympathetically and, for once in cinema, realistically.
Perhaps the psychic stuff could have been jettisoned in favour of more scenes between Christie and Sutherland, who act well together.
