Review of Don't Look Now (1936) by Sarah T — 30 Apr 2008
I loved this film. It's from the era where intelligent suspence still reigned over pure gore. The acting from both the leads is exceptional with Nicolas Roeg's editing of the 'notorious' sex scene serving to bring a depth to their relationship, as they potter round the house, getting changed.
The many plots and subplots are weaved together to create an end that is totally surprising. The suspension when Sutherland is going after the red cloaked figure is palpable and the ending surprisingly affecting.
