Review of Don't Look Now (1936) by Ellen B — 11 Oct 2010
A denoument that should be laughable is rendered blood-curdling in the hands of director Nicholas Roeg, who builds up the dread to near unbearable levels of tension and is aided by phenomenal performances from both Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland.
There are few films in this genre that have managed to convey the emotional truth of the characters with such penetrating effect. Outstanding.
