Review of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973) by Trent R — 19 Sep 2009
Fun movie-of-the-week fare, with William Demarest (Uncle Charley from "My Three Sons" ) getting his crotchety on as the family's fearful handyman who knows more than he lets on. Bad effects are made the most of with abundant shadows, and the constantly whispering mini-goblins or whatever are terrific to (not) see.
This appears to be getting remade with Katie Holmes & Guy Pearce.
